Anyone and No One

Artist Will Ryman creates these massive sculptures using scaled down materials.  The exhibiton, "Anyone and No One" currently at the Paul Kasmin Gallery, tests the limits of scale and complexity.

"Bird" is a two ton sculpture made out of 1,500 bent nails, "Everyman" is a giant human figure comprised of 30,000 bottle caps, and the final installation is a labryinth of stacked paintbrushes. Pretty staggering.

Exploding food

Remember this Christmas post? Photographer Alan Sailer is at it again, this time with a series of photos of exploding food. His technique is absolutely amazing, working out of his garage with a homebuilt air-gap flash rather than any special camera.

Teen Dream

These girls can do no wrong.

At the edge of the world

These magical photos are by dutch artist Scarlett Hooft Graafland.  She produces her work in remote locations where the inhabitants have been forced to adapt to the natural conditions, creating site-specific installations inspired by local traditions and materials.  Pretty stunning work.

"I am filled with nostalgia for places where people are very close to nature," says Graafland. "Places where people have barely interfered with nature. The wonder of nostalgia for places you have never been to. The wonder of creating situations that have never existed before and will probably never exist again. Situations that are possible but very unlikely to occur again. Magic realism."

dripping in jewels

Fenton's S/S 2012 collection was shown amidst the backdrop of the fab Four Seasons Hotel.  The amazing collection of rhinestones and feathers were juxtaposed by Fenton's signature spikes and tough chains.  Utterly perfect.
